In 1848, our six founders hoped to create a society that cultivated friendships, inspired a high degree of mental culture, and fostered an understanding of moral character. In 1873, this society and vision was brought to the University of Virginia and 135 years later the Virginia Beta Chapter still strives to fulfill this mission.
