                      John Thornton '09

Just came back from a great bachelor party weekend in Key West. Joined by brothers Eric Thornton, Ross Baird, Edward Lindquist, Tim Lee, Darius Nabors, Brendon Hart, David Newsome, Layton Hill, Jonathon Yagel. It was an incredible weekend of which most evidence should be removed. Wedding is on June 25th in Atlanta, GA!

After moving to New York City, I got involved doing social media management for a safari company that later sent me to live in Cape Town for a few months. Now after a summer back in Richmond, in August I will be moving to Sweden to start a Masters in International Development at Lund University.

I've recently started work as a speechwriter at the British Embassy in Washington, DC. Spent Memorial Day weekend in NYC and watched the UVa lacrosse team win the national title with brothers Matt Schrimper and Clark Bohne (both 2010 grads as well). Anyone coming through the DC area after mid-July, my couch is your couch.

I'm living in the Virginia-Highlands of Atlanta, GA where I moved after graduation. I'm now in my 4th year of urology residency (like my fellow '03 Phi Delt, Greg Broughton). My wife, Deborah, is pregnant with our first child and he is due in December/January.

Just back to my home station of Hawaii after attending Brother E. Ross Baird's wedding in Atlanta. By April 10 my 25-man platoon will be on the ground in eastern Afghanistan for a 1-year deployment.
